Alpine Resorts Victoria makes new managerial appointments

Alpine Resorts Victoria makes new managerial appointments
October 31, 2023

Alpine Resorts Victoria (ARV) has announced a series of managerial appointments across its locations.

The Victorian Government agency, which manages the state’s six alpine resorts - Falls Creek, Mt Buller, Mt Hotham, Mt Baw Baw, Mt Stirling and Lake Mountain - has welcomed Dean de Santis as the new General Manager of ARV Lake Mountain.

de Santis joins ARV after more than 20 years working at an executive level across diverse industries including construction, retail, elite sports event management, and local government.

He brings to the role significant experience in successfully managing and empowering large teams on both major projects and day-to-day operations, as well as a deep understanding of balancing stakeholder interests and concerns, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds.

His most recent roles have been Managing Director of Merchant Coffee Roasters in Singapore, successfully introducing Melbourne coffee culture to Singapore, and Managing Director of Peak Services Solutions, a property management and consulting company based in north east Victoria.

ARV has also announced that Andre Philbrick has been appointed Head of Mt Stirling Resort.

He brings significant alpine experience to the role from over 22 years in the industry, including more than 20 years working for Buller Ski Lifts across a number of operational areas including Ski Patrol, grooming, summer mountain biking operations and summer earthworks.

Philbrick commenced with Mt Stirling in 2021 as acting Ski Patrol/Operations Director and is passionate about seeing Mt Stirling succeed as an environmentally sustainable alpine resort.

In July ARV announced that Lyndsey Jackman had taken on the role of General Manager at Mt Hotham and that Josh Last, who was previously Operations Manager - Head of Assets and Operations, at Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort, was appointed General Manager of Mt Baw Baw.

New branding to roll out
Having been approved by Victoria’s Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action and the Department of Premier and Cabinet, ARV is set to release new branding and associated visual identity.

ARV is currently working to finalise the brand style guide and transition strategy in conjunction with the resort General Managers and marketing leads, and once finalised will begin rolling out the brand across all corporate communications and digital mediums.
