read moreFacing ongoing uncertainty over COVID-19 travel restrictions, the Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) has today announced that it will not hold its multi-day annual industry conference in May but will instead hold single day 'roadshow' events in Sydney, Melbourne and on the Gold Coast.
AALARA today advised "an incredibly important decision has been made by the AALARA Board of Directors to ensure you receive all the info you need to, without the uncertainty of COVID-19 travel restrictions.
"(The) AALARA21 RoadShow will be a one day conference held across three locations, giving you more reason than ever to be at the industry's only conference in Australia."
Forced to cancel its 2020 conference, AALARA had planned to hold its 2021 event on the Gold Coast from 17th to 19th May.
The AALARA21 RoadShow events will be held in:
Sydney
Wednesday 21st April 2021
Melbourne
Wednesday 5th May 2021
Gold Coast
Wednesday 12th May 2021
Explaining the need to communicate and stay connected with as many members as possible, AALARA added “we realise that now, more than ever, you need to know what is happening with industry insurance, what is happening with the state regulators, what is working for other embers, what is not and everything in between.
“With an impressive line-up of talented and dynamic industry leaders and speakers to present leadership sessions, educational and industry forums during the conference, it's going to be one you won't want to miss.
“With the decision just having been made last week, please stay tuned for more details as we iron them out.
“In the meantime, make sure you clear your diary for your closest AALARA21 location.”
In line with running a COVIDSafe event, all registrations will be online and pre-sold.
Registrations will go on sale on the AALARA website in the coming weeks, www.aalara.com.au/2021-conference/
