To help stimulate the NSW economy and keep businesses in business, the NSW Government has created the ‘Out & About’ Scheme to support local hospitality, arts and tourism providers across the state. The vouchers can be used at participating eligible NSW businesses and venues who are registered as COVIDSafe.
The initial trial in Sydney’s CBD of the ‘Out and About’ scheme will see each adult receive a total of $100 worth of vouchers, to be used separately across various businesses with the hope that more NSW residents will consider the CBD as a fun, entertaining and affordable option for a day out.
Merlin Entertainments Group Divisional Director, Rob Smith advised “this is a welcome step towards increasing both frequency and dwell time of a visit to metro-Sydney at a time when the dining and entertainment sectors need it more than ever.
“Sydney has so much to offer and it is fantastic to see that there is support on its way to revitalise the city and encourage people back to the businesses people know and love.
“The next step is the consideration of increasing capacity restrictions so businesses can truly ‘get back to business’ and do what they do best. We can’t wait to welcome visitors from across NSW into our attractions with plenty of exciting new activities planned for the upcoming school holidays, which will be announced soon”.
The Out & About Scheme will be rolled out across the state from late January 2021
