Vision Personal Training has today began the roll out its new Vision BioScan technology in select studios, aiming to help clients rethink their journey to better health.

The Vision BioScan, which measures detailed changes in body composition, supports Vision’s objective to change the way Australians measure their health and fitness.

According to PT Operations Manager, Gavin Aquilina, Vision is among the first health centres to offer this innovative technology, which breaks the traditional mould of measuring fitness progress according to weight on a scale.

Aquilina explains “body weight is the outdated way to measure how fit and healthy you are. Body composition - knowing exactly how much muscle vs fat you have, is the new way forward.

“At Vision, we believe education is power, and in our case, we educate our clients so they are equipped with all the tools and knowledge they need to achieve optimal health and fitness.

“Elite athletes have been using body scanning technology for recording accurate internal performance data for some time now. Vision is now offering this sophisticated technology to help Australians and fitness enthusiasts of all ages achieve better health.

“We’ve always encouraged our clients to look beyond their relationship with gravity, which is what we traditionally see on the scales. Unlike weight scales, the Vision BioScan provides a variety of data insights for a more complete picture of your health. Personalised metrics include lean muscle mass, skeletal muscle mass, visceral fat, body water and even bio age.

“Using Evolt 360 technology, a Vision BioScan consultation consists of stepping on the machine for 60 seconds where data is analysed to produce an in-depth report of your body’s composition, followed by a 30-minute consultation to determine the best exercise and nutrition plan for you.

“The Vision BioScan will assist Vision Personal Trainers to refine their client’s training and nutrition programs, specific to every client and their individual goals. Without doubt this will lead to accelerated results.

“The Vision BioScan delivers more than just a number on a scale. It gives you and your trainer detailed, personalised data on what your body needs every step of the way, so you can accurately quantify all your hard work.

“We hear it all the time - people in the gym, working hard and not seeing the scales move. Now, with a Vision BioScan, you will be able to see if your lean muscle mass increases while your body fat decreases, and ignore what the old school weight scale is telling you. With a more accurate way of measuring your weight loss progress, you will see why you might be progressing slower than you expected.

“A common trend we see in those aiming to lose weight is when they overdo cardio sessions and neglect weight training, and they lose muscle mass instead of body fat. This hinders progress because a reduced level of lean muscle mass slows down your metabolism — the rate at which you burn calories. The Vision BioScan allows clients to see whether or not this is the case and if so, what positive change they can make to lose fat while maintaining muscle mass.”

The Vision BioScan is available to all Vision Personal Training members at select Vision Personal Training studios. Members of the public who are interested in getting a scan are advised to contact their local Vision studio to lock in an appointment.
