Snap Fitness aims to raise more than $50,000 to support mental health initiatives

Snap Fitness aims to raise more than $50,000 to support mental health initiatives
September 3, 2020

Coinciding with International Mental Health Month in October, Snap Fitness Australia is partnering with mental health charity, LIVIN to raise vital funds and awareness to support LIVIN’s cutting edge education programs, apparel and community awareness initiatives, promoting the organisation’s mantra ‘It Ain’t Weak to Speak’.

Snap Fitness clubs will rally their communities throughout October to support the cause through positive mental and physical health challenges, setting the ambitious goal of raising more than $50,000 nationwide for the cause.

Snap Fitness Chief Executive, Chris Caldwell, said he is excited to see what the fitness community can achieve through facilitating positive physical activity and open conversations around mental health.

Caldwell advises “at Snap Fitness our goal has always been to have an all-encompassing approach to health and wellness – we know the strong links between physical and mental health.

“The existing mental health issues our society is suffering has been heightened this year with the global pandemic, so it’s never been more important for the entire country to get behind this cause and do something to create positive change in their communities.”

LIVIN Founder, Casey Lyons, said the partnership will give Australians a timely reminder to focus on their overall health and wellbeing, both physical and mental.

Lyons added “2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, taking a serious toll on those who suffer from mental health issues or even those who may be experiencing these issues for the first time.

“LIVIN was created to break the stigma of mental health – and while we understand many Aussies aren't in a position to contribute financially to this campaign, we are asking everyone to take some time to focus on their mental health this month.”

Snap Fitness’ fundraising activities run through to 31st October 2020, including an in-club mental health challenge, local fundraising initiatives and an online Virtual Mediation Session.
