read moreThe International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) has announced that it is to partner with the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) to present the second annual 2018 Global Exchange Oration.
Fuelling the evening with engaging insights and discussion, Chris Skeith, Chief Executive of the Association of Event Organisers Ltd (AEO) and UFI Board Member, will deliver his address and participate in a panel at ICC Sydney on Wednesday 3rd October 2018.
Among the discussion points, UK-based Skeith will share insights on global industry topics including, the increasing presence of private equity ownership, the challenges of representing the sector to different stakeholders and thoughts on the future of the industry.
ICC Sydney Chief Executive, Geoff Donaghy said he was pleased to welcome Skeith to Sydney and provide a platform for discussion and industry collaboration, commenting “we operate in an industry that’s unafraid of disruption. The business events industry is dynamic and nimble by nature but we should never be complacent.
“We welcome the opportunity to partner with the EEAA to host international experts for debate and discussion, investing in the future success of ICC Sydney and the important contribution of business events for Sydney and New South Wales.”
The EEAA 2018 Global Exchange is a key part of the EEAA’s global partnerships strategy, providing the industry with a unique opportunity to hear from globally recognised leaders and build its international relationships.
EEAA Chief Executive, Joyce DiMascio said the inaugural Global Exchange Oration in 2017, by Kai Hattendorf, Chief Executive of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), had been such a success, the Association would continue to hold the event annually.
DiMascio added “this event is focussed on helping us to leverage the full benefits of our global engagement.
“The real opportunities for the Australasian business event industry will come from ‘looking outwards’ - engaging with our international colleagues and building stronger connections with our global community.
“Our job as an industry association is to put our members in a position to develop their international connections and learn from global best-practice. The Global Exchange event gives us the opportunity to do just that.”
Skeith is widely respected across Europe and previously headed ESSA, the event supplier and services association, and business visits and event partners.
