As Victoria eases restrictions relating to dining, entertaining and socialising, local business HungryHungry’s technology allows guests to order food and beverage directly from their mobile device, which means less time in queues, holding physical menus or waiting for staff to attend a table, and more time enjoying the experience.
During the pandemic, HungryHungry pivoted their contactless ordering service to help over 1,500 Australian venues operate their own delivery, takeaway and pickup, allowing them to not only stay open for business but also saving them a fortune in usual commissions which would have otherwise gone to the big delivery providers.
As restrictions have lifted, HungryHungry has helped an array of Melbourne venues including Ladro, The George On Collins, The Commons and PonyFish Island, all switch to at-table ordering technology and digital menus using their contactless QR code technology.
HungryHungry cofounder, Mark Calabro notes “the hospitality industry has been doing it tough for years and unfortunately COVID heightened that experience. Fortunately, we were in a position last year where we could pivot our technology and help keep restaurants open for business with their own branded online platforms.
“Our roots are in order at table and digital menus so with the easing of restrictions we are thrilled to be back working with venues of all sizes so they can safely welcome guests in a post COVID world. HungryHungry is all about helping enhance the customer experience and making sure venues can do so in a way that is not only profitable but efficient and safe.”
Sean Kierce from Ladro TAP & Fitzroy adds "on busy nights the staff costs are where they should be, they have never been there before. We have around a 99% adoption rate and our customers love it."
As the city gets back up and running after another lockdown HungryHungry will be needed more than ever to help stabilise the future of many hospitality businesses across Melbourne and the rest of Australia.
