read moreThree children were injured in Western Sydney last weekend when winds lifted an inflatable slide, described in some reports as a ‘jumping castle’, into the air.
On a day of gusty winds, the children were taken to hospital after they fell from the inflatable slide reportedly operated by Millenium Jumping Castles at what Seven News described as a "makeshift fairground".
NSW Police were called to a commercial property in the suburb of Elderslie and, as reported by Seven News, were told that four children had been playing on the jumping castle "when it lifted into the air, causing the children to fall up to 8 metres to the ground".
Those injured included a three-year-old girl and two boys, aged five and six.
In a statement, NSW Police advised "three children were transported to Westmead Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries."
Safework NSW is investigating the incident with one of the issues being whether the inflatable slide was design registered.
All inflatables with a fall height 3 metres and over and designed after 1st January 2012 are required to be design registered.
