read moreFast growing, multi award-winning data technology company ActiveXchange has announced that its work in enhancing the industry’s digital capability has been significantly boosted with the awarding of $300,338 via the Federal Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources Business through the Entrepreneurs Program.
Welcoming the news, ActiveXchange Chief Executive, James Ellender (pictured below) advised “having recently moved the SportsEye Network beyond three million members and participants, the funding propels ActiveXchange towards our vision of supporting all our partners to impact the lives of over 10 million people through a more informed, connected and therefore active sector.”
As a result of the grant, ActiveXchange will be increasing its in-house capacity, and working alongside venue operator, sport and government partners, to evolve and enhance the SportsEye products which connect into a common network. This means reducing human effort in the transfer and processing of data (integrating with a growing number of leisure and membership management third parties), as well as enhancing and automating the predictive (big data) modelling to create common intelligence relevant locally, to every organisation no matter their size or experience with data. Ultimately, helping all partners to make more informed and coordinated planning, investment and delivery decisions - right offer, right place, right time.
Ellender added “thanks to the Entrepreneurs’ Program and the foresight of our founder and Chair, Alex Burrows, our entire sector will soon have the ability to truly connect, automate and manipulate data in real time - empowering better informed decisions today, for our communities far and wide - a network with this level of reach truly is a global first.
"It’s also recognition from Federal Government of the social and economic role our sector has to play, and how a centralised network will facilitate wider industries such as health and business, to become enablers of physical activity."
The grant is part of $5.36 million being shared across 12 businesses to help turn good ideas into marketable products through activities such as trials, upscaling and connecting with new markets. Experienced commercialisation facilitators work with the businesses through the different stages of their business building process to guide and provide advice.
Ellender concluded “as we continue on the path out of COVID-19 and partner with more Operators, Sport and Government to better plan and act, it’s pleasing to know that we have the endorsement, support and ongoing facilitation of the Australian Government.”
